What a wonderful story of a nani and her granddaughter! I can only imagine her horror when her little girl chopped off all her hair. Perhaps she was secretly proud too — that her granddaughter could take a stand even at such a tender age, even if it was against her own wishes.
The women we grow up around shape us. Regardless of gender, we mould ourselves and our worlds around the women in our lives. Strong women such as your grandmother create generations of strong women. May we carry that strength forward.
